The Backstory Matters

A story is the narrative but it’s the backstory that breeds a certain response.

It’s like having the formula to calculate the end game. Like the story, girl meets boy, boy leaves girl, girl left heartbroken. The backstory is, dad left girl as a child and broke her heart, so now, girl only meets heartbreakers, like her dad. A foregone conclusion, maybe? Unless, she identifies and addresses her backstory which developed into, always being left by boy.

Too simple, maybe not?

They say history is not lineal but circular. Now, that sounds like the work of a backstory operating? Look what’s happening in the world today, it’s definitely repeating history.

I don’t have any answers but we really need to address the backstory, not the story. When we solve that little issue, we’ll be sweet!
